The Wendougee Data S is a professional dual boiler espresso machine designed for precision, consistency, and control. Built to meet the needs of both commercial settings and advanced home baristas, it features a gear pump for smooth, quiet operation and stable brew pressure, making it ideal for pressure profiling and reliable performance over time.

With separate boilers for brewing and steaming, PID temperature control, and a saturated group head, Data S maintains thermal stability and consistent extraction shot after shot. The integrated E-bar app lets you monitor key parameters in real time, including brew temperature, shot timer, water usage, and maintenance alerts, all from your phone or tablet.

The machine is housed in a full stainless steel body, designed for workflow efficiency, connectivity, and lasting durability.

Ik gebruik de Wendougee Data-S nu een tijdje en ben er erg onder de indruk. De kwaliteit van de espresso die je ermee zet is echt top. De smaak van de shots is consistent en vol, en dat komt vooral door de gearpump en de nauwkeurige drukregeling. Je hebt heel veel controle over zowel druk als flow, wat het afstellen leuk en leerzaam maakt. De bouwkwaliteit is erg goed en zwaar uitgevoerd, alles is netjes afgewerkt. De software is overzichtelijk en fijn in gebruik. Via de app heb je duidelijke controle over druk- en flowprofielen, waardoor je makkelijk kunt experimenteren. Met een bottomless portafilter krijg ik nu perfecte shots, iets wat met mijn vorige espressomachine veel lastiger was. Een klein minpunt vind ik dat de machine geen extra display heeft voor gebruik zonder app. Het zou prettig zijn als je bijvoorbeeld de watermelding en shottijd ook direct op de machine kon zien, zonder dat je daar een telefoon of tablet voor nodig hebt.

Build quality feels very solid overall - the machine is seriously heavy and the internals look sturdy and well-built. I did run into one issue, though - I smelled burnt plastic, which turned out to be wiring touching the copper pipes going into the boiler. I’m not sure the temperature was high enough to melt anything, but I moved the cables aside and will insulate them properly. I also noticed that the casing near the top cover arrived scratched. The packaging was extremely well-protected and nothing was damaged in transit, so the scratch must have happened at the factory. A few design choices could be better: the drip tray would be nicer in ceramic or steel instead of plastic, and the steam and hot water wands would benefit from a cold-touch design. One thing that did surprise me is the rather below average user manual. It doesn’t include much - if anything about maintenance, recommended water connection parameters, or general care. To find proper guidance, you have to look for information elsewhere, which really shouldn’t be necessary for a machine in this price range. The app still has its bugs and quirks, but it’s improving with every update. Since joining the beta, some issues are already resolved and the connection feels more stable. Overall, it’s very usable, though there’s definitely room for UX improvements and new features.
