Discover the world of refined espresso with our exclusive Microlot Espresso Tasting Pack, featuring two carefully selected coffees, each with 250 grams of beans. This pack is ideal for true coffee enthusiasts who want to explore the unique flavors and aromas of high-quality, handpicked coffee.
This lot combines Batian, K7, Ruiru 11, SL28, and SL34, bringing together classic Kenyan cup character with newer disease-resistant varieties.
As a Peaberry lot, the beans develop as a single rounded seed inside the cherry rather than two separate seeds. Peaberries are often prized for their concentrated sweetness, bright acidity, and dense structure.
Expect a bright, juicy, and well-structured cup with crisp berry-forward acidity, sugary sweetness, and a long-lasting herbal finish. The profile is clean and expressive, finishing with elegance and clarity.
This coffee comes from Los Naranjos, the farm of Norberto Noreña Marín in Alto Sano, Gaitania, in the Tolima region of Colombia. At 2,100 metres above sea level he grows four hectares of coffee within a larger family property. Norberto has only been producing coffee for a few years, but he grew up among the coffee plants and develops his craft further with every harvest. Alongside coffee he grows beans, maize, cassava, peas and plantain. That mix of crops keeps the soil healthy and supports both the land and his family. He makes his own organic fertilisers from coffee pulp and plant residues.
This lot is Pink Bourbon, processed as a Natural. After picking, the cherries are floated, then oxidised for 24 hours and fermented anaerobically for another 46 hours. That long fermentation builds the sweetness, complexity and fruit expression of this coffee. The coffee then dries slowly in covered drying sheds for around 20 days, until it reaches the right moisture level. That slow, controlled drying preserves clarity and gives the coffee a silky texture and layered sweetness.
Pink Bourbon is one of Colombia's most loved varieties, known for floral aromatics, lively fruit and a refined sweetness. At Los Naranjos the variety grows at 2,100 metres, where the cherries ripen slowly. Combined with careful Natural processing, this produces a coffee with plenty of clarity, balance and complexity. Expect a juicy, expressive espresso with milk chocolate, blackberry and ripe red grape. The profile is sweet and silky, with rich chocolate and lively fruit coming together in a long, clean finish.
Finca Medina sits at the foot of the Agua volcano, just outside Antigua in Guatemala. The farm has grown coffee here since 1842. The high altitude and fertile volcanic soil of the Antigua valley, ringed by the Agua, Fuego and Acatenango volcanoes, give this coffee depth.
The farm pairs modern processing with Antigua's traditional techniques. Alongside the coffee the producers invest in their people, with its own water treatment plant and scholarships for the healthcare and education of workers and their children.
The coffee cherries are handpicked at peak ripeness. For this Black Honey they are de-pulped, after which part of the mucilage is left on the beans during drying.
Black Honey is the most demanding of the honey methods. The beans dry slowly on raised beds, finished with controlled mechanical drying. They occupy the drying space almost twice as long as yellow or red honey. That slow drying gives the coffee more sweetness and body. We tasted notes of cherry, dark chocolate and plum. The Black Honey processing gives a rounded, juicy body with bright acidity and high sweetness, resulting in a rich yet clean espresso.
Experience the art of espresso with these two exceptional coffees, perfect for home baristas looking to deepen their coffee journey.
