MHW-3Bomber SE Pro Espresso Shaker Funnel | Black 58mm

MHW-3Bomber SE Pro Espresso Shaker Funnel

The SE Pro is a shaker dosing funnel that sits on your 58mm portafilter and catches the ground coffee. Give it a light shake and the grounds settle into an even, uniformly dense layer, so there is no need to tap the portafilter to settle the coffee. The conical shape steers the dose towards a flat bed that fills the whole basket, ready to tamp.

Why you want that: an even bed lets the water flow through at the same rate everywhere and gives channelling less of a chance, which makes your extraction more stable and your shot cleaner. It is the step for anyone looking to sharpen their prep, not a shortcut for a quick fix. Expect a little practice with your grind and your shake before it clicks.

The funnel is made from ABS and aluminium alloy. It fits 58mm portafilters with two straight lugs, though not every model works. It will not fit portafilters with angled lugs or three lugs, so check your portafilter before you order.
