This coffee is processed by Aroma Nativo in Pitalito, Huila, Colombia, as part of the Veci Project, founded by Luis Marcelino. The project connects small producers with strong farming practices to high-end markets, focusing on those without access to processing infrastructure.
Farmers are paid premium prices for their cherries, which are then processed centrally using advanced fermentation techniques. Full traceability is maintained throughout, and each lot is kept separate to preserve the identity of the farm and harvest. This approach highlights the diversity and potential of small, carefully managed micro- and nano lots.

Only the ripest Caturra Mejorado cherries are selected. The coffee undergoes anaerobic fermentation in whole cherry, followed by pulping and a second fermentation in sealed barrels with lactic bacteria from a previous Geisha lot. Drying takes 11 days on raised beds, followed by a 2 month stabilization phase in a controlled environment.
Caturra Mejorado is a recently identified variety from Acevedo, Huila, known for large cherries and uniform development. It combines the balance of Caturra with floral and citrus notes and vibrant acidity. It is believed to be a natural cross between Caturra and Pink Bourbon. Currently, it is exclusively grown by one farm, with very limited availability.

Expect a bright and structured cup with floral notes, citrus clarity, and a vibrant acidity. The profile is clean and balanced, with a refined sweetness and a layered, elegant finish.
