Build quality feels very solid overall - the machine is seriously heavy and the internals look sturdy and well-built. I did run into one issue, though - I smelled burnt plastic, which turned out to be wiring touching the copper pipes going into the boiler. I’m not sure the temperature was high enough to melt anything, but I moved the cables aside and will insulate them properly. I also noticed that the casing near the top cover arrived scratched. The packaging was extremely well-protected and nothing was damaged in transit, so the scratch must have happened at the factory. A few design choices could be better: the drip tray would be nicer in ceramic or steel instead of plastic, and the steam and hot water wands would benefit from a cold-touch design. One thing that did surprise me is the rather below average user manual. It doesn’t include much - if anything about maintenance, recommended water connection parameters, or general care. To find proper guidance, you have to look for information elsewhere, which really shouldn’t be necessary for a machine in this price range. The app still has its bugs and quirks, but it’s improving with every update. Since joining the beta, some issues are already resolved and the connection feels more stable. Overall, it’s very usable, though there’s definitely room for UX improvements and new features.
