Sometimes you find decaffeinated coffee which tastes just like a normal coffee. This Honduras is one of them! It’s a blend of organically produced coffee grown by several smallholders.
The decaffeination is done by the Canadian company called Swiss Water. Raw, unroasted, green coffee is immersed in a natural solvent that we call Green Coffee Extract (GCE). GCE is a water-based solution containing the same compounds that are naturally present in green coffee, except that it has no caffeine. The GCE will extract caffeine from the green coffee. This process is repeated until the coffee is 99.9% caffeine free.
It's an outstanding, good, decaffeinated coffee with a juicy and chocolaty character. We roast this coffee light to make it suitable for both filter and espresso.
