This coffee comes from Nyamagabe, the south province of Rwanda. That is located in the heart of the Virunga mountain ridge which stretch from the Ugandan tot the Burundian border. This area has an extremely rich biodiversity that list 200 different tree species as well as 300 bird species. The coffee trees are grown on small plots on volcanic soils at altitudes between 1700 to 2100 metres.
100 producers from the Nyamagabe terroir bring their coffees to the Remera washing station where the coffee is processed with care.
With two raining seasons and an average temperature of 20 degrees Celsius the cherry ripening is slow. This is perfect for the Bourbon variety and results in a sweet and complex coffee.
