The highland of Mantiqueira de Minas is a very good coffee area. The region has perfect coffee conditions and has been working according to traditional processing traditions for years. By maintaining the guidelines of these traditions, the coffee from this area gets the PGI (protected Geographical Indication) quality mark.
Fazenda bota fora is located in the south of Mantiqueira de Minas and near the famous Carmo de Minas. This area has been bought by Francisco Tephilo Reis Neto since 1900 and has now remained in the family for 4 generations. As a result, the company has a lot of experience and expertise in-house. Cocarive is engaged for other advice on, among other things, cultivation techniques, cultivation systems, drying and preservation methods and the latest processing machines. In addition to the PGI certificate, all companies that join the Cocarive comparative also have the Brazilian Specialty Coffee Association (BSCA) certificate.
After harvesting, this specific coffee is depulped and dried on concrete patios to a moisture level of 12%. The beans are then stored in wooden bins for 1 month to stabilize the beans. The beans are then checked for quality, stored and marketed by Cocarive.
